This position plans, coordinates, and presents interpretive education programs and special events for park visitors, schools, civic groups, and private organizations. Applicant must have knowledge of flora, fauna, geology, history, recreation, and natural resources. Position researches and records data regarding park resources and programs, writes press releases, newspaper articles, flyers, brochures and scripts for programs, and delivers presentations using audio-visual equipment. Other duties include assisting with supervision of park operations, planning, trail maintenance and performing office and front desk duties as necessary. Must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to traverse rough terrain and work a varied shift, including weekends and holidays. A criminal background check and a driver’s record check are required.

Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor's degree in natural science, communications, parks and recreation management, or a related field. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
