Receive, log, and prioritize maintenance requests from internal teams or building occupants. Assist in scheduling and tracking routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks. Coordinate with maintenance personnel and external vendors to ensure timely completion of work orders. Manage calendars and maintenance logs to keep operations running on schedule. Conduct initial troubleshooting of minor facility issues and escalate complex problems as needed. Provide on-site support for small-scale maintenance tasks under supervision. Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, completed repairs, and scheduled activities. Update databases or computerized maintenance management systems with relevant information. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure that all work is performed safely. Assist with periodic safety checks and contribute to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
Familiarity with basic tools and equipment, such as hammers, drills, and hand tools. A willingness to learn about electrical, plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and other systems relevant to facility maintenance. Ability to identify minor issues and determine practical solutions under the guidance of more experienced personnel. Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with maintenance team members. Capacity to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking on various surfaces, which are common in maintenance duties.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in maintenance coordination or facilities management, demonstrating expertise in handling complex maintenance projects. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
Preferred qualifications: Someone with knowledge of repairing historic structures related to the Historic Registrar.
