Travel Consultants staff our Welcome Center and greet and assist visitors, mapping out routes, and providing travel and tourism information about Arkansas. Other duties include participating in familiarization tours, compiling visitation data, and entering it into the computer, stocking and keeping inventory of literature in literature racks and helping to maintain the cleanliness of the center. Reads a variety of information to keep abreast of history, geology, local events, attractions, and other information of interest to visitors. Maintain CPR/Frist Aid Certification (provided)Job requires occasional moderate lifting, up to 45 pounds. Must be available to work some weekends and holidays. Travel Consultants wear a uniform provided by the department.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: the formal education of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in public relations, customer service, or related area. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
