This position will assist with general maintenance throughout the state park grounds, facilities and equipment. Job duties include cleaning and completing minor repairs to park facilities, maintaining hand and power equipment, performing landscaping tasks, etc. Utilization of hand tools, small-powered tools including weed eaters, etc. will be required. The position will also be tasked with assisting the Skilled Tradesman-Trails Maintenance Coordinator with maintaining the park’s 54-miles of trail system via trail condition assessment and trail repairs utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. Previous trail mountain bike skill would be beneficial, as the provided bike would be used to assess trail conditions and reach remote work sites.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a driver’s record check will be performed. A criminal background check is required. Applicants will be required to work one weekend day, every week, and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some early mornings, and holidays. The work schedule will be 32 hours a week, four days a week, approximately 1,800 hours annually. This position requires fieldwork, so the applicant must have the ability to complete medium to heavy physical tasks; traverse a variety of terrain and may work in inclement weather. This position receives paid holidays and retirement.

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
