This position performs general maintenance on grounds and makes minor repairs to park facilities, including basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical repairs. Job duties include mowing, weed trimming, trash pick-up, and cleaning facilities as needed. This position also operates a water treatment plant, commercial landscaping equipment, maintains equipment inventories, performs vehicle maintenance tasks, and completes equipment maintenance records. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, possess or be able to obtain a Class II Water Treatment/Distribution or Class III Wastewater license within a reasonable time frame, be able to traverse rough terrain, be able to lift up to 75 lbs., and work a varied schedule, including some weekends and holidays. A driving record check will be performed.

Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of vocational technical training in maintenance; plus two years of experience in general maintenance, including one year in a leadership capacity. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
