Special Requirements 

 

Must be able to work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather events to provide coverage for a 24-hour facility. Shift is subject to change.

 

This position will be working with at-risk male youth; employees may be subject to verbal abuse from students.

 

Must possess and must maintain a valid Arkansas Driver's License and meet the eligibility requirements covered by the state insurance policy.

 

Required to wear a CSTP Issued Uniform and maintain military style grooming and appearance.

 

The ability to participate in physical fitness activities is required.

 

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Manages staff to accomplish required duties and responsibilities, ensures all critical duty stations are properly staffed and required activities are accomplished, evaluates effectiveness of schedules, policies, procedures, and methodologies, and recommends changes. Observes student behavior and performance to ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with established rules and regulations, ensures compliance through instruction to staff members and by direct intervention as needed, assists students with personal growth and development, and provides counseling in accordance with established policies and procedures. Administers program principles to provide maximum opportunity for student growth and improvement, enforces published policies and procedures that pertain to cadre and cadets, and conducts required training in accordance with policies and procedures. Provides administrative requirements and maintains records to ensure all training activities and requirements are met. Maintains accountability of all assigned property, personnel, and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $32,405.00 - $51,686.00

Summary

The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities for quality control and appropriateness of programs, coordinating special projects, and preparing applicable reports. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of United States Army FM 22-5 and FM 21-2 drill and ceremony standards and procedures. Knowledge of program development techniques. Ability to oversee and direct cadre and cadets. Ability to monitor effectiveness of programs and service. Ability to prepare oral and written information and reports. Ability to communicate to a diverse group of people.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in public administration or related field; plus one year of experience in program organization and administration or related area, including six months in a leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
