ADEM is committed to responding quickly to the needs of the citizens of Arkansas during times of disaster, whether it be natural or man-made. ALL ADEM staff, regardless of position title, serve a role in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to aide in response efforts.
- Manage the CRR office including training, planning fire prevention programs, risk reduction programs and public education.
- Develop a statewide Youth Fire-setter Task Force-providing leadership in program development, implementation, operation, evaluation and sustainment.
- Assist other public officials and professional organizations in areas related to CRR within the State of Arkansas.
- Give lectures, demonstrations, and presentations to community groups and other organizations or institutions.
- Maintain data and records regarding all CRR activities.
- Prepare reports as requested on CRR and Fire Prevention.
- Recommend a CRR budget to the State Fire Marshal on an annual basis.
- Implement a statewide Junior Fire Marshal program for K-12 schools.
- Work with the Public Information Manager with providing Public Service Information announcements.
- Other duties as assigned by the State Fire Marshal.
