The mission of the Department of Military is to provide a professional staff of Arkansas State Employees who help maintain and improve the readiness of Arkansas National Guard units through effective fiscal management of State Resources, Human Resource Management, and quality administration of Arkansas National Guard Programs. Preferred qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. (Shall not be a foreign national).
  • Must have and be able to maintain a drivers license.
  • Will be required to work at heights up to 60' in elevation and within confined and small enclosed spaces.
  • 25% ITIL certifications must be must be obtained.
  • ISO or ANSI certification must be obtained.
  • VMWare knowledge is preferred. 

 

Additional job duties:

  • Responsible for assisting in the full life-cycle of IT infrastructure projects, from detailed design and implementation planning through completion. This includes prioritizing tasks, maintaining project schedules, proactively monitoring progress for data accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and effectively communicating workload status and unplanned events to management staff.
  • Responsible for assisting all phases of the project life-cycle, from initiation through closeout, performing comprehensive project activities including planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
  • Responsible for Monitoring data center data communications infrastructure – including HVAC, power, backup power, and fire suppression systems – to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Assist in the management of preventative maintenance plans for these critical systems across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for assisting in the management of access control systems, and installation of electronic locking mechanisms.
  • Responsible for the proficient installation, termination and testing of diverse data cabling systems, including and not limited too fiber optics, copper cabling, and power grounding. ensuring the reliability of the physical connectivity of the network and strict adherence to BICSI industry standards.

Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an agency’s or organization’s information technology infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency. This role involves managing servers, networks, storage systems, and other infrastructure components while identifying opportunities to enhance performance, security, and capacity. The IT Infrastructure Analyst provides technical support, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with various teams to align the infrastructure with business needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain information technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Monitor system performance and ensure uptime, availability, and optimal functioning of infrastructure components. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime. Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend upgrades or improvements to support growth and efficiency. Implement and maintain security measures to protect infrastructure from vulnerabilities and cyber threats. Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure accurate records are maintained. Support the implementation of disaster recovery and backup strategies to safeguard data integrity. Collaborate with information technology teams, vendors, and a variety of assorted personnel on infrastructure-related projects and initiatives. Research emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the agency’s or organization’s infrastructure. Provide support and training to end-users and junior information technology personnel as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in information technology infrastructure or related roles, such as systems or network administration.

Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
