The mission of the Department of Military is to provide a professional staff of Arkansas State Employees who help maintain and improve the readiness of Arkansas National Guard units through effective fiscal management of State Resources, Human Resource Management, and quality administration of Arkansas National Guard Programs.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Configure Cisco swtitches and routers
- Configure and manage Cisco endpoint devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, and wireless controllers
- Cisco VOIP configuration and management
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve various network connectivity issues.
- Hold or obtain Information Assurance Level II certification (CompTIA Security + or equivalent)
- Install and configure fibre optic components such as transceivers and fibre optic cables
- Experience or ability to install, configure , and maintain Network Management Servers such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure,Solarwinds, or Orion.
- Clear understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SNMP, OSPF, EOGRP, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
- Familiar with Forescout Network Security preferred
- Cursory understanding of AAA network security including 802.1x, Radius, TACAS+, and Cisco ISE
- Current CCNA certification or equivalent preferred.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds individually, climb ladders, and work in small spaces.
- Occassional in state travel to remotes sites and out of state travel for training
- Drive state issued vehicles
