Youth Challenge Program
The mission of the Department of Military is to provide a professional staff of Arkansas State Employees who help maintain and improve the readiness of Arkansas National Guard units through effective fiscal management of State Resources, Human Resource Management, and quality administration of Arkansas National Guard Programs. Civilians are welcome to apply and will be trained on Drill and Ceremony. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the eligibility requirements covered by the state insurance policy. Work hours other than regular daytime schedule and weekends ARE required. Applicants must complete each item on the State of Arkansas application to be considered for employment.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Assist enrolled program cadets with the development of a post residential action plan to ensure positive placement prior to Program graduation.
- Instruct Core Component classes during the residential phase to ensure required tasks are completed.
- Coordinate placement activities for cadets such as career fairs and college tours.
- Establish/maintain acceptable communication means including travel with program graduates and mentors.
- Enter graduate placement data into Program tracking system database.
- Compiles and maintain source documentation for each assigned cadet’s case records.
- Establish rapport with Program mentors by assisting in the mentor screening and training processes.
- Completes required state and federal training in specified timeframe and attends classes to remain in compliance.
- Performs any additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree in business management, office administration, or a related field; plus three years of experience in employment service including recruiting, advertising, screening, placement activities or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
