Youth Challenge Program
The mission of the Department of Military is to provide a professional staff of Arkansas State Employees who help maintain and improve the readiness of Arkansas National Guard units through effective fiscal management of State Resources, Human Resource Management, and quality administration of Arkansas National Guard Programs. Civilians are welcome to apply and will be trained on Drill and Ceremony. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the eligibility requirements covered by the state insurance policy. Work hours other than regular daytime schedule and weekends ARE required. Applicants must complete each item on the State of Arkansas application to be considered for employment.
This position is responsible for the following: |
- Maintains documentation of classes and other related information; produces complete, accurate, and legible records of training for evaluations.
- Plans and conducts extra-curricular activities to maintain student-mentors relationship/rapport.
- Schedule and coordinate informational programs and oral presentations as required.
- Assist with training new Case Managers.
- Assist the Case Managers and RPM Coordinator in compiling post-residential reporting requirements and submitting to NGB as required.
- Coordinate activities with other Challenge Staff and manages all post-residential support activities.
- Uses program brochures and promotional videos for presentations to small and large groups, on and off-campus.
- Utilize and update YC social media platforms as necessary to ensure public awareness.
- Participate in YC recruiting campaigns.
- Organize career fairs, college tours, and other occupational opportunities.
- Plan placement activities for students.
- Instruct informational classes to prepare students for post residential placement.
- Develops and maintains community resources statewide for the purpose of recruiting Mentors and building partnerships for youth placement.
- Supervises professional staff by training, assigning, reviewing work, evaluating performance,
- Performs any additional duties as needed.
