Job Duties: The Website Developer works with the Office of Communications and is responsible for a wide range of activities related to website management, such as designing and maintaining websites and web applications to ensure functionality, layout, and user-friendly interfaces across various devices. The Website Developer will research and evaluate current and future computer related technologies, respond to complex and specialized requests from department staff for web-based support, evaluate and implement necessary adjustments to applications to accommodate user requirements, recommend changes or updates to department web content, design, layout or efficiency and installs software updates and coordinates with developers or users to resolve problems. Ideal candidates must possess extensive knowledge of content management systems for web sites, the ability to identify and implement creative technological solutions to generate and distribute web-based content and analyze web design problems and devise corrective measures.
Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: Formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field; plus, two years of experience in computer programming and analysis or related area.
Preferred qualifications: In addition to above, two years of experience using WordPress, HTML and CSS.
