Summary
The Department of Information Systems (DIS) Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the
agencyâÃÂÃÂs operations management duties for Enterprise Systems Management, Enterprise
Services Administration, Enterprise Network Services, and Enterprise Operations Divisions
in support of the agency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency
policy.
Functions
Serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the agency and serves as a member of the agency
executive staff by developing, executing, and managing special projects as assigned by the
agency Director in order to accomplish agency strategic plans, goals, vision, mission, and
values.
Directs the activities of divisional personnel, through lower level managers, by determining
overall goals and objectives and by managing subordinate staff, including interviewing,
hiring, providing training, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, and
serving as reviewing official for lower level personnel.
Assists in the planning and management of the agency budget and provides advice and
recommendations to the agency Director and senior leadership team.
Assists agencies and institutions in achieving their goals in a secure, reliable, and cost
effective manner through a commitment to achieve excellence.
Facilitates communication and teamwork with the agency Director, senior leadership team,
associates, agencies, and institutions.
Reviews and analyzes state and federal policies and agency reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelorâÃÂÃÂs degree in computer science, electrical
engineering, business management or a related field; plus nine years of progressively more
responsible experience in operational management systems, including five years in a
professional managerial capacity.
