This position is housed in the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Foster Care Unit. The individual that holds this position is the Health Service Lead for DCFS. The applicant selected for this position will be responsible for facilitating monthly health service meetings with DCFS health service staff state-wide, providing technical assistance on PASSE and Medicaid Issues, monitoring the UAMS PACE contract and working closely with their staff, assisting with the Foster Parent Portal account set up and troubleshooting.

Site Admin (Ciox, UAMS, ACH, Baptist, Etc.). They will also be responsible for conducting health service audits, requesting out of state birth certificates, processing lost warrants and mailing returned checks.

They will assist with foster care board run, which includes conducting board review and preview. This position is an integral part of ensuring the health, safety and well being of children in foster care as well as supporting families including foster and biological families.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks such as provider communications, audit support, and maintaining reports. Comfortable working with data systems and committed to providing efficient, accurate support to children, families, and service providers. Computer experience is preferred. Minimum of two years in human services or public service.

Job Summary

The Social Services Specialist provides case management, client advocacy, and program support for individuals and families in need. This role requires assessing client needs, connecting individuals to community resources, and maintaining compliance with social services policies.

Primary Responsibilities

Assess client eligibility and provide individualized case management. Develop service plans tailored to client needs. Conduct home visits, interviews, and risk assessments. Maintain detailed case records and documentation. Advocate for clients in legal, medical, and housing matters.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Knowledge of Arkansas social service laws, policies, and regulations Ability to analyze client needs and create action plans Understanding of behavioral health and protective services

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of two years of work experience in human services programs or public service. Required to have a background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check.
