The Missing and Exploited Youth Coordinator is a specialized statewide position that reports directly to the Child Safety Administrator. While this position is a replacement, it has been reformatted to support improved service delivery and outcomes for DCFS-involved youth who are missing, have been trafficked, or are at high risk of being trafficked.

 

The position will ensure a commitment to safety, permanency, and wellbeing by providing specialized case management services for children and youth with child welfare involvement who are missing or absent; victims of human trafficking; or High Risk Victims. This position will support efforts to locate, stabilize, and reduce the recidivism of youth missing from in-home and out-of-home cases and provide guidance to field staff when youth are missing from open cases. Additionally, this position will support efforts to stabilize and support youth who have been victims or human trafficking or are high risk victims involved with open cases. This position will be responsible for cross-collaboration both internally and externally within DCFS.

 

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology or a related field; plus four years of experience in a child welfare or human service program or a related field, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Job Summary

The Social Services Coordinator manages and coordinates social service programs, ensuring that clients receive necessary resources and support. This role involves case management oversight, policy implementation, and interagency coordination to enhance service accessibility for Arkansas residents.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee case assignments and workload distribution among social services staff. Ensure programs comply with state and federal guidelines. Develop partnerships with community resources and service providers. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements. Provide training and support to frontline social workers.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to manage and coordinate multiple cases and projects Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities Case management and service coordination Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Knowledge of Arkansas social service laws, policies, and regulations Intermediate in data management, reporting, and documentation Familiarity with trauma-informed care and cultural competency Understanding of behavioral health and protective services

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of three years of work experience in human services programs or public service. Required to have a background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check.
