Job Description:
The Senior Technology Analyst provides technical expertise necessary in the implementation, use of software technologies deployed, identification of problems and problem solving.  This position will be responsible for assisting in the upgrades of software.  The Senior Technology Analyst works directly with software vendors and internal  staff members to solve complex problems. They must be able to report to senior staff problems and resolutions.  They will serve in a lead IT role on relevant projects as assigned and provide end-user support as needed.  

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and execute SQL queries.
Excellent understanding and experience using Microsoft SQL Server.
Detail Oriented.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to document requirements and research complex issues.
Experience providing technical expertise to support software implementations, upgrades, and usage including problem identification and resolutions.
Experience in leadership role on IT related projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, problem solving, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities.
Experience with Office 365 products and exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to provide end user support and training as needed.

The Senior Technology Analyst position is responsible for supporting, facilitating, preparing, and developing the policies, standards, and guidelines relating to information technology and on-going operations of the Arkansas Enterprise Architecture program. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Develops and publishes policies, standards, and guidelines relating to information technology. Evaluates, designs, implements, and maintains databases, writes code, verifies data, and constructs complex reports. Provides technical assistance in software applications and problem solving to agency personnel. Tests technologies for compliance with accessibility laws and standards for internal and external entities. Produces reports, graphic art, visual materials, and other electronic and paper documents for presentations, websites, and publications for agency outreach. Assists in the development of the Arkansas Enterprise Architecture policies, standards, and guidelines. Provides and maintains ongoing design of websites to ensure consistency in style, tone, and quality of the organization's site. Performs research and data analysis and utilizes reporting tools for project design. Performs other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of principles and processes for of customer service. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite automation and interoperability. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Ability to develop, design, edit, and maintain websites. Ability to prepare and deliver public presentations related to information technology. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or related field; plus three years of experience in system analysis, telecommunications, information technology, information security, or other related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
