*Must possess a valid Arkansas driver's license.

*In-state travel is required, and overnight stay as needed. At times this can be with short notice.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the monitoring, oversight, andorganizational management, of the OCS Survey Unit. This unit completes
on-site inspections of Home and Community Based Service (HCBS). TheNurse Managers reviews facility reports for accuracy and providesassistance to subordinate staff.

 The Nurse Manager works in an administrative capacity by overseeing the survey unit in the Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance (DPSQA) Office of Community Services. This position will have the primary responsibility for hiring activities for the survey positions, including serving as Hiring Official, conducting interviews, and selecting candidates and submitting for approval to leadership. This position will be responsible for reviewing all survey visit outcomes and ensuring deficiencies identified are properly supported and the quality of reporting is sufficient and clear.  This position is responsible for preparing the state's evidence for any Informal Dispute Resolution hearing or appeal hearing and representing the division during that hearing in whatever form is applicable (desk review,  in person, telephone conference) timely. This position will maintain data reporting  for all appeals, including standard information on the facility and specific  rules being appealed, overturn rating, and identify through the data potential areas of training for staff. The Nurse Manager will collect and analyze data onsurvey activities and discuss with the Assistant Director to evaluate and identify areas of concern, training opportunities, or recognition.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of nursing services in a state government healthcare facility. This position requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The Registered Nurse Manager will supervise and support nursing personnel, manage scheduling, ensure adherence to healthcare standards and regulations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote positive patient outcomes. This position requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively manage the nursing unit.

Primary Responsibilities

Supervise, lead, and mentor nursing staff on a daily basis, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants. Manage staff assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and appropriate staffing levels based on patient acuity and care needs. Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients in accordance with nursing best practices and facility policies. Manage day-to-day activities within the nursing unit, including patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and healthcare safety standards. Organize and facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff to ensure their skills and knowledge remain current.

Knowledge and Skills

In-depth knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care standards, and evidence-based clinical practices. Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations, particularly those pertaining to nursing practice and patient safety.

Minimum Qualifications

An associate’s degree in Nursing.

Licensure/Certifications

Must hold a valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
