The Real Estate Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining records of owned or leased real property and coordinating changes in status of real property. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Supervises building custodians by interviewing, recommending for hire, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Establishes and maintains manual and computerized real property voucher files of property value and usage according to state and federal regulations. Prepares and maintains all records of any changes to real property, such as addition of heating units, disposal of unnecessary buildings, and official changes in use of buildings, to comply with National Guard documentation policies and procedures and to determine monetary value of real property assets. Reviews specifications, contracts, and blueprints to ensure contractual compliance and maintains such records in permanent real property files. Corresponds with National Guard Bureau to obtain final approval of any changes, additions, or deletions to real property assets by completing necessary request forms and maintaining files of pending approvals. Prepares and submits various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports according to established procedures. Conducts constructions inspections of installation of real property equipment to ensure contractual compliance. Performs other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and structural requirements in the construction and maintenance of buildings. Knowledge of real estate principles and practices. Knowledge of inventory control and records management procedures and practices. Ability to express ideas and concepts orally and in writing. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to establish and maintain computerized files. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and/or design specifications, and interpret findings. Ability to appraise property and to review and monitor contracts. Ability to analyze various forms of written material, conduct on-site inspections and investigations, and recommend solutions and/or improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree in engineering technology, real estate, architecture and building construction, or a related field; plus three years of experience in construction, real estate, facility management, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
