The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator ensures the Veterans Service Officer (VSO) Division is providing AR veterans and/or their eligible dependents with quality support services daily.  The QA Coordinator assists the VSO Division Director by serving as the VSO Assistant Division Director and supervising the four central AR stationed VSOs.

 

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicant must be an honorably discharged veteran.  This position will be located at ADVA in Little Rock, AR. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Current or former Veteran Service Officer, some supervisor experience, willing to travel around the state, nights and weekend work may be required.

Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing the quality assurance program for an agency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Supervises administrative support staff by interviewing applicants, making hire or termination recommendations, training, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Evaluates program services and identifies areas in need of improvement and submits programs to superiors or committee for approval. Provides technical assistance to agency personnel on quality assurance by conducting team training sessions in audit methodology and procedures. Conducts audits, reviews staff reports of audit findings, and investigates reasons for problems, errors, or lack of quality of services. Attends various meetings regarding quality assurance and serves as a liaison with other state, regional, and national agencies and groups concerning related programs. Compiles information and recommendations into various program reports and presents to the Quality Assurance Committee for review. Develops and modifies agency-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance programs and ensures program compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of quality assurance procedures or programs. Knowledge of state and federal laws and agency standards concerning quality assurance. Ability to communicate information and provide technical assistance to agencies regarding quality assurance. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates. Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information and prepare reports. Ability to interpret state and federal laws and regulations and agency standards concerning quality assurance. Ability to conduct audits of agencies' operations, investigate problems, and gauge quality of service. Ability to utilize computer software and applications.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration, human services, or related field; plus four years of experience in evaluating or auditing programs, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.  Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
