Preferred Qualifications/Mandatory Qualifications:
Education and/or experience in grant management is preferred.
This position is established under a Federal Grant Program and is responsible for overseeing highway safety sub-grant projects and acts as the lead coordinator for one or more program aeras within the State Highway Safety Program
- Assists grant applicants with problem identification and determining program area needs, provides technical assistance with grant application procedures, reviews grant applications and recommends approval/disapproval.
- Participates in the establishment of grant priorities and allocation of resources.
- Prepares sub-grant agreements.
- conducts on-site monitoring and assessments and prepares monitoring reports.
- Collects and analyzes crash data, reports, and project evaluations to identify problem areas and ensure compliance with state and federal highway safety guidelines.
- Processes sub-grantee reimbursement requests, activity reports, travel authorizations, agreement amendments, and other project forms.
- Maintains project agreement files.
- Coordinates and collaborates with various law enforcement, judicial and highway safety program personnel to provide technical assistance and monitor sub-grantee financial and operational status.
- Coordinates, leads, and/or oversees special programs or projects
- Conducts public engagement, outreach and awareness and community collaboration activities.
- Compiles periodic programmatic reports.
- Adheres to federal and state regulations related to the Highway Safety Program.
- Responds to public and/or media inquiries related to Highway Safety campaigns.

- Frequent in-state travel
- Periodic out-of-state travel with overnight stays
