Summary

The Nursing Home Division Director is responsible for overseeing the operations of two skilled nursing facilities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Functions

Directs the activities of divisional personnel through lower level managers and supervisors by determining overall division goals and objectives and by managing subordinate staff, including interviewing, hiring, providing training, and assigning and reviewing work. Provides technical assistance, guidance, and information to internal and external agency management and professional staff. Researches and interprets federal and state laws and agency policies and procedures to comply with federal and state regulatory legislation applicable to section programs and assists in the preparation and introduction of new legislation relative to assigned programs. Compiles information and prepares reports and recommendations orally and in writing. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management, public administration, and program administration. Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to nursing home administration. Knowledge of the executive and legislative processes. Ability to analyze data, plan outcomes, and determine solutions. Ability to develop and manage strategic plans, projects, and programs. Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and develop legislation or recommend revisions. Ability to prepare and provide information to agency management, the legislative and executive branches, and others. Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports of findings and recommendations. Ability to plan and direct the work of others. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, health care administration or a related field; plus eight years of progressively more responsible experience in nursing home administration and operations or a related field, including five years in a professional managerial capacity.

Licenses

Must be licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in Arkansas by the (DHS) Office of Long- Term Care in accordance with ACA 20-10-402.
