The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Project Coordinator to support the Division of Arkansas Tourism in the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives. This role is essential to keeping high-visibility projects and public-facing efforts on track, particularly as they relate to trade shows, special events, merchandise fulfillment, and marketing logistics.

 

Typical Functions: Coordinate logistics for Arkansas Tourism’s presence at industry trade shows and events, including booth setup, shipping, staffing coordination, and on-site execution. Manage fulfillment of promotional materials, merchandise orders, and collateral requests across departments and partners. Track timelines, budgets, and deliverables for special projects and executive initiatives, providing regular updates to the Tourism Director. Support day-to-day operations of the Tourism Office, including scheduling, document prep, and project tracking. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and recap documents following events or campaigns. Ensure consistent branding and messaging across event materials and tourism merchandise.

 

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Solid understanding of event management. Familiarity with marketing analytics and metrics. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in marketing software, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve marketing goals.

Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of professional experience in marketing or communications, with a focus on project management or event coordination.

Job Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of marketing programs and campaigns for the State of Arkansas. This role involves coordinating day-to-day marketing activities, managing content, and ensuring timely execution of initiatives. The Marketing Coordinator works closely with the Marketing Supervisor/Expert and other team members to ensure alignment with state goals and messaging.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns and strategies for state initiatives. Coordinate content creation, social media management, and distribution of marketing materials. Maintain relationships with external vendors, media outlets, and stakeholders to ensure campaign execution. Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Assist in the organization of events, conferences, and other marketing-related activities. Ensure that all marketing efforts comply with state policies, regulations, and branding guidelines. Provide administrative support for the marketing department, including managing calendars, tracking project timelines, and preparing reports.
