Job Duties:
This position travels statewide to assist parks in analyzing infrastructure issues and developing project requests. Responsibilities include writing detailed project specifications to be provided to contractors for awarded projects and researching and evaluating new procedures and materials for inclusion in project specifications.
The position meets with contractors throughout all phases of assigned projects and is responsible for ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and established timelines. The role includes signing off on completed projects to verify that all guidelines and requirements have been met.
This position is responsible for creating material lists and project schedules and coordinating with in-house construction crews to ensure required materials and subcontractors are available on-site as needed.
Accurate documentation collection is required, including project start and completion dates, contractor meetings, punch lists, purchase card receipts, vehicle mileage logs, and assistance with inventory of tools, vehicles, equipment, and electronic assets, among other assigned administrative duties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based research for project specifications is required. Additional duties include planning personal work schedules, analyzing blueprints, performing carpentry work, attending staff and safety meetings, preparing reports, and completing other duties as assigned.
Frequent statewide travel, including overnight stays, is required. Vehicle, lodging, and meal expenses are provided when overnight stays are required. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, and a driver's record check will be conducted.
KAS: Proficient in the use of maintenance management software and data analysis tools to monitor performance and optimize operations. Excellent leadership capabilities with strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of effectively coordinating with cross-functional teams and senior management. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective, long-lasting solutions. Exceptional time management and organizational abilities to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring consistent adherence to quality and safety standards. A proactive mindset and openness to adopting emerging technologies and methodologies that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in maintenance coordination or facilities management, demonstrating expertise in handling complex maintenance projects. Demonstrated experience in leading maintenance teams, managing large-scale maintenance projects, and integrating advanced maintenance management systems. Proven track record of successfully managing vendor contracts and driving process improvements in complex operational environments. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee's demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
