Job Summary
The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of an agency’s or organization’s information technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage systems. This role ensures that infrastructure systems support business operations effectively while being secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. The IT Infrastructure Manager leads a team of information technology professionals, manages vendor relationships, and drives strategic initiatives in an attempt to optimize the agency’s or organization’s information technology environment. A strong combination of technical expertise and leadership skills is essential for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies for the design, implementation, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure systems.
Oversee daily operations and performance of information technology infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Lead a team of information technology professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Plan and manage budgets for information technology infrastructure projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, cybersecurity protocols, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with business goals.
Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and overseeing the delivery of services and products.
Monitor infrastructure performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize efficiency.
Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 14 years of experience in information technology infrastructure or related roles, such as systems or network administration, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
Proven experience managing enterprise-level networks, servers, and storage systems.
Expertise in virtualization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity best practices.
Strong background in project management and resource allocation.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as General Data Protection Regulation or ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 27001.
Relevant certifications, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional may be required.
