The IT Infrastructure Coordinator position is critical to supporting DHS's mission by ensuring the security, stability, and resilience of the agency's IT environment. This role will coordinate and manage core network and system operations, monitor for cyber threats, and lead incident response efforts to protect sensitive data and maintain uninterrupted services. Salary Range: $80,414 – $131,201

Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and projects related to an agency’s or organization's information technology infrastructure. This role involves coordinating between technical teams, vendors, and a variety of assorted personnel in an attempt to ensure that infrastructure systems, such as servers, networks, and storage, function effectively and support business objectives. The IT Infrastructure Coordinator plays a key role in project planning, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements, while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate the maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of information technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Act as the primary point of contact for infrastructure-related projects and initiatives, ensuring clear communication. Assist in planning and implementing new technologies to enhance infrastructure performance and scalability. Monitor system performance and security, identifying and resolving issues as they arise. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to manage infrastructure-related tasks and procurements. Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure systems, processes, and changes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, cybersecurity protocols, and organizational policies. Provide technical support and guidance to teams and end-users regarding infrastructure systems. Develop and maintain schedules for routine maintenance and system updates. Support disaster recovery planning and implementation, ensuring business continuity.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple projects effectively. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in information technology infrastructure or related roles, such as systems or network administration. 

Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
