Hiring Manager: Jay Hill
The Health Program Coordinator (Dementia Services Coordinator) is a new position and program created by Act 682 of the 2023 Arkansas General Legislative Session. The duties of this position are very specific to the dementia care services for clients. This position will lead DHS efforts to improve dementia care and awareness across the state by coordinating the dementia services available to Arkansas communities.
Special Work Conditions/Preferences:
Occasional in-state travel is required.
PREFERENCES:
- Knowledge of DHS Programs & Policies and Arkansas Medicaid Provisions and Waivers related to Aging & Dementia.
- Strong preference for demonstrated and ongoing ability to partner with Non-DHS NGO's, Federal and State Partners and organizations, to pursue available grant funding and assistance with outreach and state aging program collaboration.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through written and oral communication means.

Job Summary
Primary Responsibilities
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of public health principles, program planning, evaluation methods, and evidence-based interventions. Knowledge of state and federal public health regulations, funding requirements, and data reporting protocols. Proficient in the use of data analysis tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other program-specific tracking software. Ability to interpret public health data and apply findings to programmatic decisions and communications.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in public health, health science, social work, education, public administration, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience in public health, program coordination, or health education.
