Job Duties: This position is responsible for designing and preparing artwork and print material including pamphlets, posters, charts, graphs and brochures. Position will create rough design and layout using computer software and confers with the requestor for approval. The Graphic Artist is responsible for proofing jobs for format, will paste up and lay out materials and produce copy or send to printer. The Graphic Artist is responsible for designing and preparing artwork and print material. Converts artwork to specific printing and bindery requirements set by printing companies, reviews and approves the final proof. Orders and maintains art supplies and equipment, plans and executes print-ready artwork and digital photography. Knowledge of art and print layout and design techniques, computer software usage in graphic design and artwork and printing equipment is necessary.
Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, two years of specialized training in commercial art, graphic design, or related field; plus, one year of experience in advertising, printing, graphic design, or related area.
