Additional Preferences:
In-state, out-of-state travel, and some overnight travel may be required. A valid driver’s license is required.
May be required to be on-call in special situations.
Experience in Zoonotic and Vector-Borne disease epidemiology, surveillance, and control preferred.
Adverse environmental conditions may be a component of frequent activities and may include work outside in adverse weather conditions. The use of personal protective equipment and the transportation and handling of field equipment may be required. May be exposed to physical hazards, which include arthropod bites, chemicals, fumes, and dust.
A master’s degree or higher in Entomology, Epidemiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. Two (2) years of experience in communicable disease control, epidemiology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in biology, public health or a related field; plus one year of experience in communicable disease control, epidemiology, environmental science, or a related field. OR The formal education equivalent of a master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biology, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
