Job Duties:
Coordinates data management, analysis and reporting activities pertaining to federally-mandated requirements under IDEA (PL 105-17) with the Arkansas Department of Education’s (ADE) Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Office of Special Education (OSE); supervises assisting personnel in matters pertaining to data acquisition, data entry, data cleaning, data analysis, and reporting of findings from the analyses; compiles and analyzes data to assure quality control and determine trends in order to meet federal reporting requirements (e.g., Annual Data Report); accesses information held in databases in order to respond to special requests for statistical and analytical reports; designs, develops, and reviews forms, surveys, or reports for outcomes/results; recommending any changes or solutions; providing information or distributing forms, surveys, or reports to appropriate recipients; participates in formal training of data submitters on information requested on reporting; assists in the coordination of activities within and outside the organization by attending meetings, committees, and workshops to ensure compliance with research and reporting requirements; updates and reports state data system needs and procedures, investigating discrepancies, preparing narratives of problem areas, and recommending corrective action; engages stakeholders with target setting and continuous improvement of the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report
Special Requirements:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or a related area; plus five years of data management experience, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
