Summary: Investigate and process CVRB – Crime Victims and Sexual Assault claims, writes summary reports, creates award payments, and other duties required for this position.
This position is responsible for processing the claims submitted to the Crime Victims Reparations Board and the Sexual Assault Reimbursement Program as assigned by the Administrator. This position's duties include obtaining and analyzing documentation necessary to determine if all eligibility requirements are met for the claims submitted. This person must possess strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the initiative to seek as many facts as possible in order to process assigned claims. Additionally, this person must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written. The Investigator must be capable of working independently and with a team to ensure the successful completion of a task. This position also entails the ability to make effective presentations on the programs to small and large groups. The Investigator must possess a courteous and professional attitude with the public, including the ability to treat victims with compassion and respect, while fulfilling the missions of the Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Board and the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
Position Information
Summary
The CVRB Investigator is responsible for reviewing applications submitted by crime victims, ensuring quality control, and appropriateness of application.
Functions
Typical Functions:
Contacts and interview victims, law enforcement, service providers, victim advocates, employers, and other involved parties. Obtains and analyzes investigative reports, medical records, financial records, and other documentation necessary to determine if all eligibility requirements are met. Prioritizes workload and checks work procedures for accuracy and compliance to laws, policies, and procedures. Prepares detailed investigative summaries on claims for presentation to the Board. Testifies during Crime Victims Reparations Board appeal hearings when needed. Makes presentations on the Crime Victims and Sexual Assault Programs to law enforcement, service providers, and victim advocate groups. Interprets and implements federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures. Revises and/or composes new procedures as benefits laws are added or amended. Coordinates with system management personnel to design or modify information technology systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in public administration, general business, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
