Job Duties:
This position is responsible for processing purchase requisitions (PR) to procure goods and services for the department as needed via open market purchases, written competitive bids, competitive sealed bids, state or departmental term contracts, or other methods as appropriate. Position develops and/or refines bid specifications, issues bid requests, analyzes bids, recommends contract awards, procures, and administers contracts for assigned commodities and services. Position provides technical assistance regarding the procurement process to internal customers and vendors. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to develop, interpret, and analyze specifications and contract terms for a wide variety of products and services and will have a proven proficiency in utilizing AASIS or comparable ERP software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication and customer service skills and organizational skills are a must.
Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, two years of experience in merchandising or a related field, including one year in purchasing.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus five years of experience in merchandising or a related field, including one year in purchasing. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
