Special Conditions:
The County Legal Operations (CLO) division of the Office of Chief Counsel is seeking to fill an entry-level (GS10) attorney position in its Little Rock office, handling child welfare and adult protection cases Pulaski and Perry Counties. The position is ideal for candidates interested in gaining litigation experience, or in child welfare and adult protection law. Rigorous training will be provided, and more experienced attorneys are welcome to apply and be considered for a higher-level position.
CLO provides legal representation to DHS's Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Adult Protective Services (APS), and the Office of the Public Guardian for Adults (OPG) in all 75 counties in Arkansas. The attorney will engage in all aspects of client representation for the state's largest executive agency, including litigation, research and writing, client counseling, and advocacy on behalf of the state.
Travel may be required. The ability to utilize technology to participate in court hearings and other meetings by videoconference and teleconference is also required.
