The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire a Assistant Director of Public Events and Training.

 

Candidates must represent the Attorney General’s office professionally and skillfully and will be responsible for providing information to Arkansans on important topics including new educational initiatives, scams, consumer safety, internet safety, state government resources, and office functions. They will assist with preliminary planning and logistics related to office events.

 

This position requires extensive statewide travel and occasional overnight stays away from home. Assist with the development, revisions and updates of program curriculums. Utilize the internet and various databases to research for resource materials to enhance program. Make effective presentations on all prevention and education programs. Provide assistance to staff and other program personnel by gathering and processing information, providing consultations, and answering constituent questions regarding educational programs and office resources. Manage correspondence received via the online form, e-mail and mail. Provide accurate resources for assistance. Complete appropriate follow-up communication to ensure issues are resolved to the best of our ability.

 

Assists in the preparation and implementation of special projects and events. Assist with publication fulfillment. Participate in training, seminars, and other program-related events as designated by the Director of Community Relations.

 

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency; plus relevant work experience to include two or more years of hospitality or customer service. Writing experience preferred.

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with knowledge of SharePoint. Knowledge of InDesign preferred. Ability to research resources and clearly and accurately communicate messages. A high level of patience is essential for this role. Time management and organizational skills are required to manage numerous tasks, while working under strict deadlines and within a team. Adaptability to work with different personality types. Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the Attorney General’s office.

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift materials up to 25 pounds.

Summary

Functions

•    This position includes extensive statewide travel, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight stays away from home. 

•    Provide comprehensive event assistance, including registration, day-of-event administration, post-event evaluations, and presenter support.

•    Communicate with internal and external constituents to coordinate and participate in event logistics. 

•    Assist with the development, revision, and update of office programs, special projects, and events. 

•    Make effective presentations on all prevention and education programs. 

•    Attend booths on behalf of the office to provide attendees information about office programs and events. Respond to attendee questions regarding office resources.

•    Manage correspondence received via the online form, e-mail, and mail. Provide accurate resources for assistance. Complete appropriate follow-up communication.

•    Assist with publication fulfillment.

•    Participate in training, seminars, and other program-related events as designated by the Director of Public Events and Training or Director of Community Relations.

•    All other duties as assigned.

The formal education of a high school diploma or equivalency; plus, relevant work experience to include two or more years of hospitality service or customer service. Writing experience preferred.  Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
