Job Summary
The Applications Analyst I is responsible for analyzing, implementing, and maintaining software applications that support an agency’s or organization’s business processes and operations. By bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, the Applications Analyst I collaborates with developers and information technology teams in an attempt to ensure applications are functional, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals. This role demands strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of business processes, and the technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues.
The Public School Accountability Division seeks an analytically skilled professional who supports state and federal accountability systems by translating complex education data into clear, actionable insights for policy, improvement, and transparency. This role requires deep knowledge of accountability policy alongside advanced data analysis, management, and reporting skills, including analyzing large, complex datasets; maintaining accountability models; ensuring data quality and accuracy; and identifying trends, anomalies, and performance insights across assessment, growth, and subgroup data. The position designs data visualizations, dashboards, and public-facing reports, responds to ad hoc data and policy requests, and communicates technical findings in accessible language to diverse stakeholders such as agency leadership, districts, legislators, the State Board, and the public. Success in this role depends on strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, stakeholder-focused communication, and the ability to proactively develop data products aligned to accountability goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
