As the largest industry in Arkansas, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture is dedicated to the development and implementation of policies and programs for Arkansas agriculture and forestry to keep its farmers and ranchers competitive in national and international markets while ensuring safe food, fiber, and forest products for the citizens of the state and nation. The Department is organized into five Divisions: Forestry Division, Livestock and Poultry Division, Natural Resources Division, Plant Industries Division, and Shared Services Division.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing direct administrative support to executive leadership, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage documents, correspondence, and records systems with a high level of organization, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Strong project coordination skills with experience supporting special projects and initiatives from concept through completion.
- Ability to prioritize demands, manage multiple deadlines, and anticipate needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Sharepoint, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience developing reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Experience improving or supporting operational efficiency, workflow processes, or internal systems to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with internal staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and initiative.
- Familiarity with strategic planning, program coordination, or government operations is preferred.
- Experience in public sector, agriculture, natural resources, or a related field is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years’ experience in agricultural programs, farm management, natural resources conservation, or program coordination.
Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
