The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Tourism Marketing Manager to lead strategic marketing initiatives aimed at promoting Arkansas as a premier travel destination. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, overseeing project coordinators, and managing relationships with external advertising agencies to ensure the successful implementation of statewide tourism campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and manage integrated marketing strategies aligned with Arkansas tourism goals.
- Lead planning sessions to identify key priorities, target markets, and seasonal initiatives.
- Analyze campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to improve results.
Campaign Management & Implementation:
- Oversee execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns including digital, print, broadcast, and out-of-home media.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and message alignment across all platforms.
Agency and Vendor Management:
- Serve as primary liaison between the department and advertising/PR agencies.
- Coordinate the briefing, feedback, and approval process for creative development.
- Monitor agency performance and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
Team Oversight:
- Manage a team of project coordinators, providing clear direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Assign projects, manage workloads, and ensure quality control of deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Budget & Reporting:
- Assist in the development and management of the tourism marketing budget.
- Prepare reports and presentations on marketing performance and key insights for leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing strategy and campaign execution, preferably in tourism, travel, or hospitality sectors.
- Proven experience managing teams and working with external advertising agencies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and digital platforms.
