Job Duties: The position is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing reports related to the financial activities of property, plant, and equipment. It reconciles the annual fixed asset inventory and records all donated assets for the agency. The role monitors the accounting system as it pertains to donated assets, historical treasure purchases, and construction contracts.
This position processes capital improvement expenditures, ensures timely asset capitalization, and records direct capital asset acquisitions and disposals. It develops and maintains manual or automated accounting records and produces monthly reconciliations. Additionally, it prepares spreadsheets and database files from automated information systems, monitors purchasing procedures of section personnel, and makes decisions regarding the account responsibility for expenditures.
The role provides technical assistance to other agency personnel regarding fixed assets, the state accounting system, and the general ledger. It also posts transactions to journals and/or ledgers, balances entries, and reconciles errors manually or electronically. The position is responsible for preparing selected year-end schedules for the ACFR and performing other auditing and reconciliation tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Minimum qualifications are: The formal education of a bachelor's degree in accounting; plus one year of experience in accounting or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education of a bachelor's degree in accounting. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
