Additional Job Duties:
The Extra Help position supports daily park operations by performing a balanced mix of facility maintenance and housekeeping duties. This role assists with routine upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment; completes minor repairs such as replacing bulbs, fixing simple plumbing issues, and addressing basic structural concerns; and helps carry out preventive maintenance tasks under the direction of full time staff. The position also monitors for potential maintenance problems, reports issues promptly, maintains clean and organized work areas, and follows all established safety procedures. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, the role provides essential housekeeping support by cleaning and sanitizing cabins, lodges, restrooms, offices, and common areas; replenishing supplies; emptying trash; performing basic laundry tasks; and ensuring proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Consistent communication with supervisors, teamwork across both departments, and a strong commitment to cleanliness, safety, and visitor readiness are key expectations of this dual function position
Preferred Qualifications:
The Extra Help Maintenance/Housekeeping position requires familiarity with basic tools and equipment such as hammers, drills, and common hand tools, along with a willingness to learn foundational electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems relevant to facility upkeep. The role demands the ability to recognize minor issues and apply practical solutions under the guidance of experienced staff, as well as clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting problems and coordinating tasks with team members. Physical capability is essential, including lifting, bending, and walking on various surfaces common in maintenance and housekeeping environments. The position also requires attention to detail in cleaning and facility care, safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, proper use of cleaning equipment, and the ability to maintain organized work areas while supporting both maintenance and housekeeping operations.
