Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool and surrounding areas. Lifeguards are also responsible for monitoring the pool facilities for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid to patrons, custodial duties in maintaining the pool facilities, taking entry fees and selling concessions to guests. This position requires weekend and holiday work.
Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The applicant must be 16 years of age and possess or be willing to obtain Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Depending on the position, a valid Arkansas driver’s license is required. Some positions are required to undergo a criminal background check and or safe driving check. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
