This position assists the Golf Course General Manager in maintaining and improving conditions of the greens, fairways, bunkers, and rough of the DeGray Lake Resort Golf Course. Job duties include supervising the golf course maintenance staff, providing on-site supervision of mowing, watering, and fertilizing of the golf course, supervising equipment maintenance and repairs, preparing and approving work schedules, training the maintenance staff, and other duties as assigned. Familiarity with mowers and grounds keeping equipment is required. Must have knowledge of and/or working experience with Ultra Dwarf / TifEagle Hybrid Bermuda grass and preference of knowledge of any other warm season turf. Must have knowledge of usage and application of fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, and miscellaneous chemicals such as surfactants and growth regulators. Must possess or be able to obtain pesticide license. College degree in Turf Grass Management or Agronomy not required but considered a bonus. Applicant must be able to work a varied shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be able to work in all kinds of weather. A driver's record check will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus fours years of experience involving golf course maintenance and repair or a related area.
Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus five years of experience in one or more skilled trades, including one year supervising skilled and/or semi-skilled workers. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
