The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for grounds and facility maintenance and general labor activities at DeGray Lake Resort Golf Course, including mowing, edging, weeding, planting trees, flowers and laying sod, changing cups, trash removal, operating lawn equipment, and performing minor equipment and vehicle repairs. This position also maintains equipment by oiling, greasing, sharpening blades, and performing other minor repairs, and they will service park vehicles by filling with gas, changing oil, performing tune-ups, and washing. Other job duties include assisting with minor electrical repairs, remodeling of buildings, and minor carpentry duties such as hanging ceilings, replacing walls, etc. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, be able to traverse rough terrain and work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays. A driver’s record check will be performed.

Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience or training in the building construction trades, general building maintenance, or in the repair or maintenance of mechanical equipment. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
